The Palmeraie is a palm oasis stretching north-east of Marrakech, planted centuries ago and still fed by a network of traditional irrigation channels known as khettaras. It’s a landscape of contrasts: dense groves of date palms giving way to open sandy tracks, with the High Atlas Mountains visible on a clear day.

Small Berber villages sit scattered through the oasis, where families still farm the land and welcome visitors passing through on quads, buggies or camels with a wave and a smile. Being only around 30 minutes from the city center means you can ride in the morning and still have the afternoon free for the souks.
